As a Donor Floor Lead, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily donor floor operations, including plasmapheresis procedures, donor interactions, and equipment functionality. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining compliance, supporting staff, and ensuring a safe and efficient donation experience. This position is ideal for someone with strong phlebotomy skills, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to quality and service.
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate vein suitability and monitor donor reactions to ensure safety and comfort.
- Respond promptly and professionally to donor complaints, reactions, or deferrals.
- Educate new donors on specialty programs and ensure a welcoming experience.
- Perform all aspects of plasma collection including donor setup, venipuncture, sample collection, monitoring, and disconnect.
- Ensure procedures are conducted in compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues within scope of training and document events accurately.
- Prepare equipment through PQ/calibrations and verify maintenance completion.
- Alert management to any equipment risks affecting donor or product safety.
- Review donor records for completeness and accuracy in alignment with cGMP standards.
- Maintain proper DMS computer entries and comments for donor data and exceptions.
- Provide guidance and training to Donor Floor Technicians, Phlebotomists, and other staff.
- Lead by example to promote high levels of customer service and meet production goals.
- Communicate operational updates and improvement opportunities to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment.
- Verify and update supply lot numbers as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Phlebotomy Certification required in California).
- Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience in medical office, healthcare, or plasma/blood collection center preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in environments with bloodborne pathogens and cold storage areas.
