Kedrion Biopharma is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven Biochemistry Analyst to join our Quality department on-site in Elstree, Hertfordshire. This role is perfect for recent Life Science graduates and individuals at the beginning of their careers who are passionate about biochemistry and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Biochemistry Analyst, you will work closely with industry experts, develop essential skills, and gain valuable insights into the operations of a leading biopharmaceutical company. You will have the opportunity to contribute to real projects and learn and carry out a vast array of analytical methods, such as chromogenic assays, UV-Vis methods and ELISAs. Additionally, you will be involved in general lab housekeeping tasks, including buffer preparation, sample aliquoting, and basic equipment maintenance and cleaning. You will also assist with documentation tasks like archiving and photocopying data. Collaborating with various departments, you will make a meaningful impact on our operations.

Duties & Responsibilities –

  • To perform a wide variety of testing in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, BPL policies and GMP.
  • Responsible for preparing reagents, standards and control samples and contribute to general laboratory housekeeping duties.
  • To promptly report any deviations, out-of-specification / limits results. To assist where required with investigations.
  • To read, collate, report and archive results using defined documentation and computer systems.
  • To ensure equipment used is clean, calibrated and maintained. Perform system suitability checks where required
  • To assist with the calibration or validation of laboratory equipment and automated systems.
  • Ensure good stock control.
  • To operate a variety of instrumentation and computer software packages intended for data analysis, collation and other related applications (e.g. LIMS).
  • To make recommendations for documentation revision.
  • Undertaking administrative activities.
  • To organise own assigned working activities. To be responsible for reporting issues or delays to next line management.
  • To identify continuous improvement initiatives.
  • To attend meetings as required.

Skills & Education required to help you within the role –

  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as Bioiological Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biosciences and Forensic Science
  • Understanding of knowledge of laboratory operations and practical work.
  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience is using analytical equipment and pipettes
  • Experience writing reports
