What to expect from your summer internship –
As an intern in our Bioprocessing team, you will gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Your responsibilities will include:
• Process modelling, scaling down from manufacturing scale to lab bench scale
• Learn about processing unit operations used in new product development with hands on experience for any that are running during the internship
• General lab housekeeping tasks (buffer preparation, sample aliquoting, basic equipment maintenance and cleaning)
• Documentation (lab write ups and reports)
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined, interns can expect to develop a range of valuable skills during their summer internship. These include:
• Laboratory Techniques: You will learn to operate standalone instrumentation like spectrophotometers and pH/conductivity meters
• Safe laboratory working: Learn how COSHH and risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures and safe working practices all provide support to work safely and effectively
• Data Analysis Skills: Enhance your ability to analyse and interpret experimental data, ensure accuracy and reliability in your results
• Attention to Detail: Develop meticulous documentation skills by maintaining contemporaneous written records of your experiments
• Problem-Solving: Improve your problem-solving abilities by troubleshooting experimental procedures and addressing any issues that arise during your tasks
• Collaboration: Work closely with industry experts and collaborate with various departments, gaining insights into the interdisciplinary nature of biopharmaceutical research

To be eligible for our summer internship, candidates must –
• be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program within a Life Science discipline. This includes, but is not limited to, fields such Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biosciences.
• be available for the entire 8-week internship, which starts on Monday, July 7th 2025
• have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application
