Job Summary

The Sr. Maintenance Mechanic performs routine preventive maintenance and work orders and assists with installation of new equipment or systems and troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns as directed by the shift Team Leader.The candidate is expected to be a role model supporting our standards and on-the-job behavior by living our US principles of kindness to others, expecting excellence, delivering on commitments, being results oriented, inspiring others, optimizing opportunities, and never giving up. In addition, the role is expected to communicate openly among peers and cross-functional teams.  Accountabilities include ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and environmental and labor regulations.

What you'll do

  • Troubleshoot problems with various electrical and mechanical controls such as, but not limited to float switches, relays, micro-switches, cam timers, electrical and pneumatically operated valves and take corrective measures.
  • Assist with troubleshooting of process Equipment and systems
  • Experience with automated and PLC systems desirable
  • Troubleshoot process systems in general including, but not limited to systems and appurtenances of CIP, WFI, batching and alcohol recovery systems, and take necessary corrective measures where applicable under minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems such as air conditioning, compressed air systems, Glycol systems and condenser water systems and take corrective measures.
  • Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, controls and control circuitry.
  • Install jobs with necessary control devices in a professional manner for process, mechanical, electrical and refrigeration areas when supplied with instructions.
  • Execute work orders and preventative maintenance tasks on all assigned equipment following established procedures.
  • Provide team leadership in absence of Team Leader.
  • All the above-mentioned functions to be performed following established safety procedures and all cGMP requirements.

Qualifications and need-to-know

  • Associates degree or higher in science/technology preferred.
  • Minimum High School Diploma with training in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical or plumbing.
  • Ability to give verbal and written instructions and complete work assignments in an expeditious, clear and professional manner.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in the repair and maintenance in, a manufacturing facility preferably in a pharmaceutical or biological facility
  • Knowledge of PLC systems desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical support equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics and flow diagrams.
  • Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office and e-mail required.
  • Knowledge of computerized building monitoring systems, preferably Siemens-Landis or Johnson Controls.

Pay Range: $30-$40/HR 

Day Shift
