Job Summary

The Multi Skilled Technician sits within the Engineering department and is responsible for the maintenance, calibration, repair and continuous improvement of pharmaceutical process and utility equipment. Working closely with Engineering, Production, QA and Planning, the role supports both planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, GMP compliance and continuity of production. The role requires strong technical judgement, clear communication and the ability to work methodically in a regulated manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

  • Carry out maintenance, calibration, repair and set‑up of production, process and utility equipment in line with engineering plans, GMP requirements and site procedures
  • Support reactive and planned maintenance activities, identifying the correct technical actions to minimise risk to manufacturing operations
  • Provide engineering support across pharmaceutical utilities and/or process equipment, including sterile steam, purified and sterile water systems, clean rooms, HVAC, filling lines, CIP systems, filtration, chromatography, centrifugation and packing equipment
  • Communicate effectively with Engineering, Production, QA and Planning to coordinate work activities and keep relevant stakeholders informed
  • Work calmly and methodically in complex or high‑pressure situations, leading fault‑finding and coordinating engineering resources where required
  • Participate in shift handovers, ensuring key technical and operational information is accurately documented and communicated
  • Complete all engineering and regulatory documentation accurately and on time, including work orders, calibration records and equipment logbooks
  • Maintain regulatory and non‑regulatory documentation using a right‑first‑time approach
  • Take ownership of personal training and development records to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical engineering support to other departments, including QA and Capital Projects, as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities across engineering processes, including SOPs, BEMPs, spare parts strategies, reliability improvements and root cause analysis
  • Ensure all work is planned and carried out in line with health and safety legislation, site policies, risk assessments, permits and safe systems of work
  • Ensure parts, equipment and maintenance activities meet quality standards within a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Make appropriate technical decisions relating to engineering activities, escalating where necessary
  • Act as a role model for safe working practices, professional behaviour and Kedrion values
  • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting reasonable additional engineering tasks as required by the business

 

Qualifications and need-to-know

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in a main engineering discipline
  • Completed indentured apprenticeship with relevant experience and additional study
  • Formal qualification in at least one additional engineering discipline
  • Experience working in an aseptic, processing, equipment or utilities environment to GMP standards
  • Working knowledge of a Computerised Maintenance Management System
  • Experience working within a strong safety‑driven culture
  • Ability to work a double dayshift pattern (Monday to Friday, 6am -2pm, 2pm -10pm rotating) with flexibility around working hours
