We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join our vibrant team in Elstree.

As a Warehouse Shift Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, providing top-notch service to our stakeholders, including patients, suppliers, buyers, and various departments within Kedrion. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team, drive continuous improvement, and make a significant impact on our operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. You will work closely with the Deputy Warehouse Manager and other departments to achieve production programmes and sales targets. Your leadership and problem-solving skills will be essential in fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Hours – this role is on a double days shift and the hours are Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm and then 2pm – 10pm on rotation.

 

Our site is not easily accessible by public transport so please take this into consideration when applying as this role is fully on-site.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities –

 

  • Plan and actively oversee team and shift activities to meet production programmes and sales targets.
  • Allocate team member duties for shift schedules, overtime assignments, and back up for absent team members.
  • Communicate and review Key Performance Indicators for the shift, ensuring they are met.
  • Serve as an effective communication point for the team, including during MHRA and FDA inspections.
  • Develop problem-solving skills within the team through teamwork involvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and principles of GMP, GWDP, and H&S policies.
  • Carry out continuous stock checks and ensure proper storage of chemicals, finished products, and hazardous materials.
  • Oversee the despatch of customer orders in a timely manner by approved couriers.
  • Maintain effective communication with Production, Engineering, Marketing, and Procurement colleagues.

 

Person Specification –

 

  • Compliance with written procedures.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills.
  • Previous people management experience.
  • Experience using an ERP/WMS process within a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GDP (Good Distribution Practice).
  • Current full UK driving license or European equivalent.
  • Counter balance truck licence to RTITB or equivalent accredited standard.
  • Reach lifting truck licence to RTITB or equivalent accredited standard.
  • Ability to pass BPL Numeracy & Literacy test.
